I'm not in tune with much of the environmental discussions happening this year regarding the mass amounts of rain that California has been experiencing. When I say mass amounts, I mean mass amounts for California. I'm sure that people buried in snow or floating in floods would probably like to take the back of their hand and give me a nice little wake up call, but sorry, I'm a California kid! Growing up with 345 days of sunshine every year would spoil anyone.

After a fairly wet and cold December and January we received a teaser for a few days in February. We were all fortunate enough to bust out our board shorts and bikinis and hit the beach. I enjoyed the sun by spending my day off at Avila Beach. The weather was seemingly perfect! It stayed warm until the last bit of sunshine faded under the horizon. To keep the warmth trend continuing, my friends and I proceeded to move from the beach to the bar and put our beer jackets on. I don't mean an actual beer jacket... I'm not a NASCAR fan, sorry. We had a few beers that enabled our blood to keep warm and allowed our shirts to stay off.

It was first time ever being inside Mr. Ricks at Avila Beach. From what I hear they have a great menu and from what I saw they had great drink selection. I can't wait for this rain to figure out it is unwanted and needs to leave so that I can spend more time in the sand and in Mr. Ricks.

I miss the sunshine. I miss my tan. I'm pretty sure most of my board shorts have dust on them. I live in California for a reason... and it's not for the rain!
