Summers in San Luis Obispo; all work and all play!
So after watching the local news station yesterday and seeing it was supposed to be a warm weekend in the mid to upper 70's, I was very confused when I came to Avila and it was caked in with fog and cold... None the less, it's mid day and the sun is finally out and it's starting to look like a very nice day! I think this is what summer is supposed to feel like!
Buongiorno! I hope everyone is having a good start to their Fourth of July! it's looking like it will be a nice day out today. Currently it's around 70 degrees and the marine layer is starting to break up. Come out and let us cater to you!
So hopefully the last weekend in June will bethe last weekend with this june gloom! It's been kind of frustrating having this marine layer linger until 12.. But nonetheless it's been nice after the burn off happens! Oh, by the way! Wave Jammers is giving out free 20 mins tours, spanning from Avila to Pismo! Just another reason to come to Avila today!
Nothing like a beautiful day for work in Avila... Meredith and I are giving some special treatment to a special party! Also I have some friends from the east coast coming out to Avila in the next couple mins!!
So I was watching GolTv, and there was this one thing called Foot Volley. Pretty much what it is, it's just like volleyball but the only touches on the ball have to be soccer touches. It looks a little difficult but I really want to try it out! If anyone wants to try it out I'm willing to play! All we need is 4 people to play!!!
Over 2500 people came out for the Miracle Mile for Kids! Earlier in the morning it was very quiet here at the finish line in Cuycous, but now the beach is packed: filled with tired runners, families, and (most importantly) surfers. The good spirit is flowing through this beach like a ragging wild fire! It's to be expected with this amazing weather. If I was running, I'd ber very satisfied! Looks like I need to start training for next year!
The first weekend has been a very fun, to say the least! Yesterday at the launch party we had the Zongo All Stars playing for the majority of the time; if you haven't heard them yet, I'd make it a point because they are an amazing local band. Us Butlers had tons of fun playing games, building sandcastles, and getting to know everyone who came out to enjoy the party! Thanks to everyone who made it out!
Today has started off a little slow, but t is still nice to be out on the beach. It's another beautiful day out here at Avila.
